Hi there,
The past few days were extremely exciting at the NCCET conference here in Cleveland. I’ll be writing a lengthy post in the next few days about some of my takeaways from the conference, and a followup to my session on eMarketing Techniques for Community Colleges.
I got the chance to have some great conversations with some fascinating people at the conference. Also got to see some fantastic breakout sessions.
One of my favorite sessions was entitled “Recession Proof Your Contract Training Unit” by Kathy Yeager.
I’ve met Kathy before and I’ve always admired her charming nature, but also her focus on bottom line growth.
After speaking with Kathy, I was determined to help get her immersed with ‘Web 2.0′. I decided to build a case study:
Building Kathy Yeager 2.0 in 30 minutes
At the time of this post, it is now 1:29AM. At 12:42AM I sat down at my computer and got Kathy “hooked up with the book”, “LinkedIn”, “Slidesharin”, “Scribd” and much more.
Here’s the exciting news I just shared with her via email:
- You’re set up on Facebook. You should have received a confirmation email. Click on the link inside the email. Once you’re on facebook, upload your picture and add in all the information you want on your profile. From there, you can start friending people, posting pics/vids, and a whole lot more.
- You’re set up on LinkedIn. I began your profile by adding your pic, your company info, and some other basics. You can upload your contact list to linkedin to see if any of your contacts are online (which I’m sure they are) and begin friending them. Make sure you put in all your past jobs, certifications, etc. Then get a bunch of people to start writing ‘recommendations’ for you because you’re awesome.
- Your slideshow is set up on Slideshare. I uploaded your powerpoint to slideshare and you can now send people an electronic link to access it online. Click here to see it. People can rate it, comment on it, and a whole lot more. You can embed it anywhere you like (your website, your blog, etc) just by pasting in the ‘embed’ code on the right side of the page. (**I’ve embedded the presentation below…fantastic!**)
- Your benchmark project is set up on Scribd. I uploaded your benchmarking project to a cool new website I recently found out about. Similar to slideshare, but for documents. Click here to see it. you can embed this on your site too!
- Your slideshow and document have both been ‘Dugg’. www.digg.com is a super sweet website to share cool sites on the internet. If someone likes the site, they ‘digg’ it, and the more diggs it gets, the better. Here’s your diggs: benchmark project and the slideshow.
Now isn’t that cool? Less than an hour. Wow.
Gotta love the web.
Cheers,
-BSK

I am “blown away” with what you did in 30 minutes! This is so impressive! Thank you so much for doing this. I love your blog page.
You have really helped me promote Contract Training Edge. I will go through each area and see if I have any questions. This opens a whole new world for me.
Thank you for your great support and taking me to this level. It is appreciated.
